My profile

Hi everybody!

My name is Cintia and I'm 27 years old. Since the music I used to love as a teenager was made by English people, I was keen to know what those songs were about. After exploring and translating hundreds of lyrics, I took up English lessons and it was then that the pleasure of speaking the language arose. I revelled in the sounds of those savory foreign words in my mouth. The experience I had with my teachers was so remarkable that I felt really encouraged to become a teacher.

Fortunately, I had the opportunity of learning the language in an amusing way, with teachers who got involved with their students' learning. I was lucky to be a student at that time as I feel that nowadays students don't tend to have the same degree of motivation as in the past, though of course I may be wrong. I think that it is vital for our current society to have really committed teachers and I'm training to be one.

Apart from English, I studied Portuguese some time ago but I don't speak this language as fluently as I speak English. I'm interested in nearly all languages, even the language of music. I am fond of all sorts of music, so I can listen to a jazz band and then change it for some good folklore . I share many of my likes with my friends, so we usually get together to watch films or to play music because I'm learning to play the bass well, at this moment.

Travelling is essential in my life. I had an amazing experience last January when I went to the south as a backpacker. I met charming people with very interesting lifestyles, which really made me wonder about many aspects of the life I was leading till then. That experience was the last push I needed to leave my parents' house. So this year is very special for me because I moved to a flat with a friend a month ago and everything seems to be a novelty these days: I've got more work, new neighbours and a different life.

I'm really happy to have begun this course with all my classmates. I hope I can meet more interesting people here. I'll do my best to learn a lot.

Cintia.
